Placenta Prints

Placenta Prints

Picture

Why would someone want one?

Placenta Prints are a wonderful way to remind you of your pregnancy and the amazing organ that nourished your baby. Some people choose to hang it in their nursery, others put it away in a keepsake box. God created it custom for you and your little one. He designed it to specifically to meet your baby's needs, having a print is a great way to remember His goodness.

What is the process?

Your placenta will come home with me after your birth. I gently wash and dry it, remove the membranes and then using special food safe dyes I create a print for you.  Occasionally I will be able to make more than one print and then you can choose which one you like best.

What materials do you use?

Placenta prints are created on quality artist 11x15 paper with food safe dyes. I use these dyes in case you want to hire someone to encapsulate your placenta. With these dyes, the placenta and umbilical cord may be encapsulated and ingested but it will be discolored. If you are wanting an umbilical cord keepsake that is something to keep in mind. It will be discolored.

Do you do blood prints with the placenta?

No, I do not.

Please note:

Every placenta is different and each print will turn out differently.  Every placenta is different in shape, size, thickness, and umbilical cord placement. I try to arrange the placenta in a way that will showcase its uniqueness, but occasionally the prints do not do the placenta justice.
